Request an update on recipients
After a minimum of at least 6 months following your loved one’s donation, we may be able to share an updated status on organ recipients and/or more information about which tissues were recovered and transplanted. If Lifesharing facilitated your loved one’s donation and you would like to request an update, please follow the steps below.

For organ donors
Lifesharing has limited access to information about recipients due to HIPAA laws. However, we may be able to obtain a general status update through their transplant centers. If you are interested in learning more about your loved one’s recipients, we encourage you to write to them if you have not already.
Before requesting an update, it is important the timing is right to receive this information. Some updates may contain unfavorable news such as a recipient not doing well or one that has since passed away. If you feel you are in a good place to receive this information, please complete the form below. Click here for guidance on writing to recipients.

For tissue donors
Unlike organ donation, tissue recipients are unknown at the time of donation. Tissue grafts may be preserved for several years before being transplanted and Lifesharing does not receive updates on your loved one’s tissue gifts after the donation. If it has been at least 6 months, we can contact our tissue processing partners to determine if any updates are available.
Before requesting an update, it is important you are in a space to receive potentially unfavorable news such as the possibility of your loved one’s tissue not being transplanted due to further evaluation after the donation took place. If you feel you are ready to receive this information regardless of the outcome, please complete the form below.
Please note it typically takes between 30-60 days to receive this update.
