April is Donate Life Month
Share this Story:
Lifesharing is excited to celebrate National Donate Life Month in April. The goal is to inspire people to register as organ and tissue donors, and to celebrate the heroes who’ve given the gift of life. Several San Diego hospitals will be holding events and posting signs. Some will also light their buildings blue and green — the colors of the Donate Life logo.
Speaking of blue and green… mark your calendars for Friday, April 13, 2018! This is “National Blue and Green Day.” Everyone is encouraged to wear these colors to promote organ, eye and tissue donation. As you know, the need is great. More than 115,000 Americans are waiting for a lifesaving organ. California has the longest waiting list at more than 21,000. Last year, more than 80 people in our area (San Diego and Imperial Counties) died because there weren’t enough donors.
Please help us spread the word about organ and tissue donation. Download the Donate Life Month images below and share them with your friends on social media. You can use them as your profile or cover photo. The 2018 National Donate Life Month artwork features Maya Angelou’s quote, “Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.”
