Lisa M. Gutierrez

My sister, Lisa Gutierrez, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2016. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and often spoke about being an organ donor if she had passed away and her organs were still good for transplant. The decision was difficult. but I honored my sisters wishes, and she herself had registered as an organ donor. Lisa was 45 years of age when she passed away. She was never married nor did she have children of her own, but we all shared our own family with her and included her when we had certain life events happen in our own lives. Lisa was always quick to be a part of our lives when we needed her, had the biggest smile on her face and rarely complained. Lisa worked for Scripps Mercy in the Medical ICU when she passed and she is truly missed by all of the people that she worked with in the Unit. I hope to hear how the stories of the people that received her organs, and how it has changed their lives. My family and I miss her so much, the loss still hurts.
